Access to LUMI-C is now open, and EuroHPC Joint Undertaking (JU) offers continuous calls to access LUMI x86 CPU (LUMI-C) partition: the Benchmark and Development Access call and the Regular Access call. Researchers may also apply to other available EuroHPC JU systems via these calls.

One half of the LUMI resources are allocated by the EuroHPC Joint Undertaking. Researchers in European countries, i.e. the EU member states and the associated countries to H2020, including LUMI consortium countries, and companies established or located in a European country, can apply for the resources in this pool for open R&D.

The call for proposals for EuroHPC JU Benchmark and Development Access modes are continuously open calls. These calls are reviewed quickly: the maximum time-to-resources-access (start-date) is two weeks after the date of submission.

The next cut-off date for proposals for the Benchmark and Development Access call is:

  • 1 March 2022 – 11:00 AM CET

Submission and further information: https://prace-ri.eu/hpc-access/eurohpc-access/eurohpc-ju-benchmark-and-development-access-calls/

EuroHPC JU’s Regular Access call is also continuously open, with a maximum time-to-resources-access (start-date) of two months after the date of cut-off.

The next indicative cut-off dates for proposals for the Regular Access call are:

  • 4 March 2022 – 10:00 AM CET
  • 1 July 2022 – 10:00 AM CEST
  • 7 October 2022 – 10:00 AM CEST

The allocations in this call are granted for one year with the option for projects to apply for a continuation. This continuation shall be duly justified, limited to a maximum of one additional year, and will depend on an assessment of their ongoing awarded project. Applicants (Principal Investigators) can only have one Regular Access awarded at any given time.

The EuroHPC JU Access Resource Committee, composed of leading international scientists and engineers, ranks the proposals received and produces a recommendation to award EuroHPC JU resources based on scientific and technical excellence.

50% for the LUMI consortium countries

The other half of the LUMI resources belong to the LUMI consortium countries. This half is divided based on the member countries’ contributions to the LUMI funding. The resources in this pool are allocated through national mechanisms and according to local policies. Please see further information at the Get Started section.
